Oscar’s and More Urbintra

The momentum is high as we have come through another amazing landmark in the entertainment industry. It was the Oscars , the most spectacular event in Hollywood. “This is where they start their walk on the red carpet,” she said. Yes, I had the most gracious opportunity to experience the making of a historical event. The Red Carpet, the press, the dressing rooms, and rehearsal were all apart of a wonderful Friday afternoon, all before the world could witness it. Honestly, I thought I was just going to the scene for lunch. Then on top of all that I met Morgan Freeman at an Oscar Party. What an incredible King?

So last week I told you about another investment group that is vetting our Company. I spoke with them on Friday, and I can tell you that it was a great conference call. When you are starting a business one of the most important to-do’s is the financials. Make sure they are not pie-in-the-sky, investors hate that. Be conservative and over deliver. I am not saying dumb down the business, but just make it valuable enough to be a “real opportunity, with a real return” on the investment. They are crunching the numbers and will give us an answer this week. You will be the first to know. Tomorrow, there’s more. Stay tuned for more.

There’s a Famine in the Land

Sometimes when you live in a place of bountiful and abundant resources it is very difficult to understand, see or feel the true impact of an economic downturn. Certainly, here in America that is true. Most of the people that I know are still going on vacation, still shopping at the same grocery store, and still eating out at nice restaurants. From where I stand, there is a famine in the land.

I started this Company during the best-worst time in history. We are talking about a true “Blue Ocean” strategy, and certainly a business model that is at the “Tipping Point”. You should read those books if you haven’t. Almost every branding and marketing book that touched the shelves confirmed everything about our products.  But right in the middle of setting a strong foundation for the Company, our country was rocked with the greatest financial shift in my lifetime, and maybe even the history of the world.

We had one investor scheduled to arrive in our California office on Monday morning right before “that time”. This was an easy 500k-1m dollar investment. Four days prior to his arrival we all woke up to the collapse of Wall Street. The rest is not worth repeating.

Be very clear. It may have delayed our departure, but we will fly. Urbintra will launch and when we do the most turbulent times will be far behind us. Don’t let the appearance of famine stop you from building or chasing your vision. If the major investment companies don’t want to give you money, find an Angel Investor. Find a group of people that really believe in your plan. True story. I presented to a group of investors in Salt Lake City, Utah 1 year and 2 months ago. The Company went away due to issues around reorganization. This coming Friday, there is a great possibility that the same investment firm will make a commitment to complete the funding requirements to get us on the runway.

Things are getting better out there. Let me be the first one to tell you. We have stood through much adversity, but I promise you this one thing; Urbintra will launch strong. There are so many people that are joining our team to bring this vision to pass. If you are reading this blog, you will be way ahead of the book. There is so much to tell, but we want all of you to grow with us, as we prepare to meet the world. Stay tuned, more to come.
